  • Cholmondeley Castle Gardens

    -  One of Britain’s finest gardens. The romantic gothic Castle - a product of the early 19th century - stands on a high rise above a lake. The Castle is surrounded by sweeping lawns and a variety of mature trees, including Cedars of Lebanon, Oak, and Chestnut. The gardens surrounding the Castle provide a lovely mix of colour and height, with intriguing walks around the lake. There is a Temple Water Garden, Rose Garden, a variety of mixed borders. Plantings are planned to provide colour at all times of the year.

  • Ness Botanic Gardens

    -  Part of Liverpool University, these outstanding botanic gardens overlooking the Dee Estuary, contain the finest collection of rhododendrons and azaleas in the northwest, one of the best known heather gardens in Britain and an outstanding collection of Himalayan and Chinese plants.

  • Chester Cruise on The River Dee

      -  This tranquil half-hour cruise along the River Dee offers a new view of the city and takes in some beautiful and interesting riverside properties. Look out for the local wildlife too, including swans, cormorants and kingfishers. There’s a commentary about Chester’s rich history and pointing out some of the more prominent buildings in the city skyline and along the river banks.
