HM The Queen's 70th Jubilee Celebrations - On Jubilee Thursday get your glad rags on, wave your union jack and enjoy a glass of bucks fizz and a delicious Cream Tea as you watch on the big screen :

· The Queen’s Birthday Parade (Trooping the Colour) Over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians will come together in the traditional Parade to mark The Queen's official birthday. Beginning at Buckingham Palace, the Parade will move down The Mall to Horse Guard's Parade, joined by Members of the Royal Family on horseback and in carriages. The Parade will close with the traditional RAF fly-past, watched by The Queen and Members of the Royal Family from the Buckingham Palace balcony


South Tyneside will shortly announce a programme of Jubilee events



 Visit Cragside House and Gardens - The revolutionary home of Lord Armstrong, Victorian inventor and landscape genius, was a wonder of it’s age.  is crammed with ingenious gadgets. Surrounding the house is a huge rock garden, together with formal gardens.



The Holy Island of Lindisfarne - A guided tour Even the trip across the causeway, covered by the sea twice a day, is an experience in itself, leading to some of the most enchanting relics of Christian heritage. It was the home of legendary St Cuthbert. See the remains of the Abbey Church.










































Beautiful Bamburgh Castle has stood guard above the spectacular Northumberland coastline for over 1,400 years on its rocky plateau and is one of the largest inhabited castles in the country. Lord Armstrong bought the Castle in 1894 and set about transforming it.



Souter Lighthouse  -  A Marvel of its age  This iconic beacon, standing on the Leas, over two miles of limestone cliffs was the first lighthouse in the world powered by electricity

















South Shields - A Guided tour Includes Catherine Cookson country, Arbeia Roman Fort & St Paul’s Church whereVenerable Bede lived and worked. Dame Catherine Cookson, one of the 20th century's most well-known and successful writers was born in South Tyneside and the area of her birth and childhood influenced many of her works. Visit her childhood haunts and many places used in the filming of her books. See the spectacular Roman Fort built as a supply base for the Roman Army on Hadrian’s Wall. View the oldest stained glass in northern Europe at St Paul’s Church, Jarrow.
